How to profit off the video commerce boom🛒
Top of the morning, folks. Before we get going, see this 115-year-old lady’s secret to longevity (if you care about remaining on this planet long as possible).
Today’s Feature Story highlights what all the fuss is about with Video Commerce. Selling directly inside videos keeps gaining steam, so we’ll dig into a big report on it.
Hopefully you can use the intel to sell more, faster (shoppable videos have shown click-through rates 10x higher than passive videos).

Video Commerce Report 2025
After I highlight the most important parts of this→ full report, I’ll list 7 platforms you can use to make shoppable videos for your products / services.
Plus, I’ll drop in simple steps to get you started with video commerce (using an example business).
Ok, here are the top 3 takeaways from the report (done by Firework, using data from 1255 global brands):
#1 Repeat purchase rate jumped by 275% when video was used vs. no video (consumer electronics).
#2 Lifetime customer value rose to $273 with video vs. $141 without — a 95% lift (furniture & home goods).
Number one alone is enough reason to invest more time in producing videos to go along with your offers. The best part? You can let your customers do some of the video work for you (as you’ll see in the Facts & Stats section later), which boosts conversions even more.
Lifetime value is critical. Especially in today’s eroding customer journey that’s hard to track with people bouncing all over the web, especially Gen Z.
Number three? A tough one to swallow for folks who love writing a newsletter, but hate being on camera. Get creative (faceless videos) or get courageous, because a 957% increase is worth it.
Ok, where can you test out shoppable videos?
Shoppable Video Platforms
Instagram Shopping
Allows businesses to tag up to five products in videos, enabling viewers to make purchases without leaving the app. For organic content and paid video ads.
TikTok Shopping
Viewers can make purchases directly from videos featuring products or services without leaving the app. You can connect your product catalog to add products to videos.
YouTube Shopping
Available for merchants in the YouTube Partner Program. Can embed clickable product links in videos and sync product listings directly with video content, allowing viewers to make purchases while watching.
Amazon Live
Amazon's QVC-style platform lets brands livestream and showcase products with a product carousel underneath the video. Viewers can purchase items while watching. Video auto-plays as soon as you hit this platform (see below).
What if you want to create shoppable videos away from the giant corporations above or want to embed videos on your website? The following platforms can get you up and running…
QuinnLive: Get going fast by importing social media videos you already posted.
Uscreen: Sell memberships, on-demand content, and products.
VideoWise: Pricey but has a thick bag of shoppable media tools (shoppable video & images, Netflix-style how-to video feed, shoppable images, etc). Dr. Squatch apparently uses this one.
Need a mini-playbook on getting started with video commerce? See the steps below using an example e-comm home good business…
Step-by-Step: How to Use Shoppable Videos for a Home Goods Business
1. Choose the Right Platform
Select a platform that integrates with your existing e-commerce setup. If you use Shopify, platforms like VideoWise, Quinn.Live, or CommentSold work.
2. Plan Your Video Content
For kitchen goods:
Cooking demonstrations using your cookware
Kitchen organization tips featuring your storage solutions
Product comparison videos (e.g., different types of knives)
"Before and after" kitchen transformation using your products
3. Create High-Quality Videos
Keep videos short (60-90 seconds for social media)
Ensure good lighting to showcase product details
Use clear, close-up shots of products in action
Demonstrate practical uses (e.g., how easily a non-stick pan releases food)
4. Add Interactive Elements
Incorporate clickable product tags that appear during the video at relevant moments. For example, when demonstrating a ceramic mixing bowl, have the tag appear while there’s a whole lotta mixing going on.
5. Implementation by Platform
On your website:
Install a shoppable video app like Uscreen or VideoWise
Upload your video and tag products from your inventory
Place videos on your relevant product pages, homepage, or dedicated video gallery
On Instagram:
Tag up to five products in your video
Use Instagram Stories with "swipe up" shopping links
Create Instagram Reels showing your products in action
On TikTok:
Connect your product catalog to TikTok Shop
Create authentic, trendy content (e.g., kitchen hacks using your gadgets)
Add product links to videos
6. Test and Optimize
Track which products get the most clicks
Monitor which videos rack up the most conversions
Test different video formats (demonstrations vs. lifestyle)
Analyze watch time to see where viewers drop off
7. Promote Your Shoppable Videos
Share across social channels
Include in email marketing campaigns
Embed on relevant blog posts
Consider partnering with food-related influencers
Start with a few well-executed videos rather than trying to convert all your product catalog at once. Expand as you see what hits with your audience.
Alright. Let’s get to The Knowledge Base below…

Self-Help
Some self-help tips seem silly. Like walking barefoot in the grass (aka grounding) — is supposed to make us feel better.
But think about how you feel on a beach vacation. Awesome, right? Not just because you’re on vacation.
Think about how many hours your feet are touching the sand. Same effect as grass, I believe.
Plus, you’re outdoors way more when you’re on vacation. So, try being outdoors and barefoot more when not on vacation. Can’t hurt to try it.

A specific strategy to implement today
Fresh ideas are hard to come by. Getting harder with ChatGPT laying waste to creativity.
Where can you find new ideas then? Old books. Old magazines. Old newspapers. Old people.
Heard a lady on a podcast talking about a fella who conceived of “the internet” 200 years ago. He envisioned a single desk “with all the world’s knowledge inside it (in microscopic writing).”
Smart people existed long ago. It’s not a new thing. They had brilliant ideas. We should dig them up and use them — ideas not people😅.
Take 30 minutes a month. Investigate smart people who lived before cars and electricity. You might be surprised the ideas you can swipe.

Thanks for reading Inbox Hacking. Please share it with your peeps - it’s sugar-free but stings a bit.
