🌠Hype up your headlines (8 examples)

Headlines. That’s what today’s Feature Story is all about. Use these 8 examples of eyeball-magnetizing headlines to gauge your headline writing skills and amp them up a bit.

Then we’ll run face-first into the Week’s Marketing Wrap-Up with news and insights.

8 Epic Headlines to Help Improve Your Headlines

I’ve done this with ESPN headlines before and will do it again in the future since sports make for easy headlines. The athletes do all the work, the writer just has to jazz up what the players did.

Today, I went with YouTube for the headline examples, with random topics.

Let’s get started - in no particular order (pasted as they appear on YouTube):

  1. CLOSING! It's HAPPENING NOW At JEEP, DODGE And RAM!

  2. Tiny home builder's customers ask: Where did their $100M go?

  3. Making A Worn-Down Home Look Fancy (Even if You're BROKE!)

  4. Sleep debt takes two weeks to get back

  5. Lao Tzu - The Art of Not Trying

  6. Dodgy road trip with Venezuelan Girl

  7. The $0 Marketing Strategy Behind The 4-Hour Workweek

  8. How to Raising Millions of Duck on Rice Field For Meat - Free range Duck Farming Technique

A few notes on each headline, then a bonus of 3 thumbnails - not hyperbolic ones - to show how to grab eyeballs with slick visuals.

Why Those Headlines Pull Us In (one-by-one)

  1. Dealership disaster? Maybe you can get a good deal. Or you like watching a business collapse.

  2. Appeals to tiny home niche and anyone interested in scams, finance, or real estate.

  3. The parenthesis add a “bonus” and hope because ANYONE can achieve this.

  4. Takes a problem and compounds how bad you think sleep loss is.

  5. A twist on the art of war themes and good alternative to “hustle culture” on YouTube.

  6. When’s the last time you saw the word “Dodgy” - it’s intriguing.

  7. Marketing for free, a successful book, and two numbers used in headline.

  8. Appeals to homesteaders and farmers but also generally curious viewers unaware you could have a million ducks on one plot of land.

Now, 3 headline-enhancing thumbnails that stand out.

Check Those Email Addresses (the right way)

Email addresses go inactive every day. Many will become Spam Traps!

Some may be on your email list right now.

Inbox Activity Checker prevents that.

It protects your deliverability and sender reputation by tracking subscribers' most recent inbox data (beyond what your ESP shows you).

Upload your list to run Inbox Activity Checker. Download results for just $0.01 per matched subscriber.
